Member Notice:
As with the first round of COVID relief efforts, we know that many in our community are anxiously awaiting their stimulus payments. While we have taken measures to mitigate the effects of increased traffic to our website and online/mobile banking channels, the increased activity may still result in some latency when using our systems due to the heavier traffic volume. You may also experience longer than normal wait times when calling our Member Service Center, again, due to the anticipated heavier call volume. The best way to check the status of your payment is through the IRS website here. We anticipate the online tracking tool to become available soon. As with the initial payments, this link is likely to be frequently updated.
For your convenience, we are including a link to an IRS press release which provides further details on Economic Impact Payments. It includes information on who is eligible and how to know if your payment will be made by direct deposit or paper check. That press release can be found here.
If you do receive a paper check, we encourage you to use the Pima Federal mobile app or an ATM to deposit your check. To use mobile deposit, you will need to have the Pima Federal app on your mobile device to access the mobile deposit feature. It’s easy to use by following the on-screen directions, or you can watch a quick tutorial video that showcases the easy steps on our website at www.pimafederal.org/online.
Please remember that Pima Federal will never ask you for confidential information, such as social security number, PIN, or passwords, when reaching out to you by phone, text or email. If you receive a suspicious email or text message that appears to come from Pima Federal, please don’t respond, click on links, or open attachments, but instead contact us directly.
A Letter from our CEO
Our highest priority is always the health and well-being of our members and employees. Therefore, it is important to share with you that an employee at our Valencia Branch has tested positive for COVID-19. We were notified of the positive test result on Saturday, June 28 and immediately began our response process. This employee was last at our branch on Friday, June 19. All employees at this location have been advised to self-isolate for the next week. Due to this circumstance, the following branch updates will take place:
- The Valencia branch will be closed and is tentatively set to reopen on Monday, July 6.
- Effective June 30, we will be limiting in-branch service to appointment only. Drive-thru service will remain available during business hours.
Please review our email communication sent out on June 26 which includes our current precautions, including our mask policy, and a full listing of branch phone numbers.
We will continue to follow the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines and take precautions to keep the health and wellness of our members and staff at the forefront of all decisions we make.
Thank you for your membership, understanding, and support during this time.
Sincerely,
Eric Renaud, President/CEO, Pima Federal Credit Union
I’d like to announce a few modifications to our operating procedures. Effective June 22, 2020, face masks are required for anyone that enters our branches. This is in accordance with the Pima County mask-wearing ordinance to stop the spread of COVID-19, which follows recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
To protect the health and safety of our members and staff, we kindly request that social distancing is practiced within our branches and that you always remain six feet away from others.
In addition, we have implemented the following procedures:
- Temperature screenings of employees prior to each shift
- Frequent cleaning of workspaces, including sanitization of pens and other surfaces that members come in contact with
- All employees will be wearing masks
We encourage you to utilize our online and mobile banking tools for convenient account access 24/7. As a reminder, as we continue to limit occupancy inside our branches, please consider making an appointment prior to your visit.
Appointments can be made on our website or by calling your preferred branch:
- Stone: (520) 202-0712
- Thornydale: (520) 202-0713
- Continental Ranch: (520) 202-0709

- Pantano: Limited to drive-thru service only during branch remodel set to be complete in August.
We appreciate your cooperation in preventing the spread of COVID-19 in our community. We thank you for your membership and remain dedicated to helping you reach your financial goals.
I would like to start by once again thanking you for your membership and patience during this unprecedented time. As of this morning, all of our branches with the exception of our Pantano location, which will be undergoing a remodel into August, have re-opened to accommodate walk-in traffic with limited occupancy standards and safety precautions in place. As such, we strongly recommend scheduling your next branch visit through our new online appointment scheduling tool, available on our website and linked below for convenient access. This will help us manage visits in a safer, more structured way, reduce wait times, and provide you with a superior service experience.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to remind you of our online and mobile banking tools that give you access to your account 24/7. Not only can you deposit a check from your phone, you can also easily transfer funds between accounts, make loan payments, pay bills, use the “start a conversation” chat feature to have your questions answered by a friendly member of our staff, and much more.
Drive-thru service and our Contact Center will continue to be available during our current business hours Monday – Friday. Please also keep in mind that our fee-free ATM network extends far beyond the ATMs you will find at each of our branches. Click on the Locations link below to locate nearby fee-free ATM locations from wherever you are nation-wide.
We recognize the multitude of difficulties resulting from this pandemic and economic shutdown and will continue to do all we can to help our members get through this. Rest assured that Pima Federal Credit Union remains strong, well capitalized, and ready to serve you. On behalf of our entire staff and Board of Directors, thank you for placing your loyalty and trust in us.
Eric H. Renaud
First, I’d like to thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate through these challenging times. I know this is a trying time for many in our community and want you to know that we remain committed to helping those being impacted by this virus.
Beginning this past Monday, the 13th, the Pima Federal website, mobile banking app, online banking, and phone system began to receive an overwhelming volume of users eagerly checking their accounts for their stimulus payments as provided in the CARES Act. This unexpected and unprecedented traffic created intermittent connectivity issues through our digital channels and longer than normal wait times by phone. I’d like to assure you that we are working to scale our systems to meet the extraordinary demand levels we are seeing to ensure your online experience returns to normal as quickly as possible. Please bear with us in the coming days if you experience any issues and rest assured that your account is safe and secure.
I encourage you to utilize the new IRS Stimulus Tracking site to check when you’re scheduled to receive your individual payment to help decrease the volume in our systems.
Also, please continue to stay up to date with announcements, loan resources, and security tips through our website. We’ve created a COVID-19 landing page as a one-stop resource for related content, www.pimafederal.org/covid-19.
In closing, I’d like to reiterate that your credit union is here for you. Although our lobbies may be closed, our commitment to you and your financial well-being remains strong and steadfast. Thank you for your membership, understanding, and patience as we navigate through this time together.
Sincerely,
Eric Renaud, President/CEO, Pima Federal Credit Union
As I expressed in my previous communication, Pima Federal is closely monitoring the rapidly changing situation regarding COVID-19. Local and national leaders have recommended or required steps such as limiting public gatherings, practicing social distancing, and closing some establishments, such as schools, to minimize the transmission of the virus.
Pima Federal is committed to serving our members while simultaneously taking socially responsible actions in these extraordinary times.
As such, in an effort to protect both employees and members from person-to-person transmission of the virus, effective Wednesday, March 18, Pima Federal branch lobbies will be closed to walk-in traffic. Members who need assistance with essential in-person services, such as large cash withdrawals or safe deposit box access, will be taken by appointment only. Drive-thru service will still be available during regular business hours, with expanded transaction limits to better accommodate business through this channel.
We encourage you to utilize online and mobile banking services, whenever possible. You can conveniently and effectively check balances, transfer funds between Pima Federal accounts or even accounts at other financial institutions, make loan payments, pay bills, and deposit checks.
Pima Federal ATMs are available at all branches. You may also utilize over 40,000 surcharge-free ATMs in the Allpoint Network. Please visit our website to find a convenient location. (Opens in a new Window)
You may also call our Contact Center at 520-887-5010. Our team is ready to assist you over the phone during regular business hours. We appreciate your patience as our call volume may be higher than normal.
If you find that you are impacted financially by the COVID-19 outbreak, I encourage you to reach out to us for assistance. Our Management team stands ready to help.
We will continue to stay abreast of both local and national conditions and adjust our operations as necessary to maintain the well-being of our employees, members and community.
Finally, I would like to assure you that Pima Federal is extremely strong financially, and that we are extraordinarily well-positioned to weather any uncertainty created by this pandemic. Please also remember that your deposits are federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) up to $250,000. Rest assured that your money is safe at Pima Federal Credit Union.
Again, we are committed to providing the best service possible, even in this unique time. I will continue to communicate as the situation evolves.
Sincerely,
Eric Renaud, President/CEO, Pima Federal Credit Union

I assure you that we are continuously monitoring the recommendations surrounding COVID-19 and are committed to being responsive to the concerns and needs of our community as the situation evolves.
We are following the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines and taking precautions in our locations, such as making hand sanitizer readily available for employees and members as well as regularly disinfecting surfaces. We have asked our employees to greet you with a warm smile rather than a handshake and of course, to stay home if they are not feeling well.
As an alternative to visiting our branches, please consider taking advantage of our convenient business channels that do not require person-to-person contact.
- Digital Banking is a convenient and effective way for you to check balances, transfer funds between Pima Federal accounts or even accounts at other financial institutions, make loan payments, pay bills, and deposit checks. If you have not already done so, we highly recommend downloading our mobile app for the most flexibility. You may also use online banking, which we are upgrading on Monday, March 16, to give you an even better experience. (Click here for more information regarding our online banking upgrade).
